Common Names: Dwarf Baby Tears, Micranthemum Callitrichoides, Hemianthus Callitrichoides Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests are introduced into the aquarium. Formally known as Hemianthus Callitrichoides, Micranthemum Callitrichoides is the epitome of carpet plants. This is one of the smallest aquatic plants available and just the right flora for creating that lush foreground seen in many stunning aquascapes. When grown in Iwagumi layouts, the vast fields of green can have a captivating effect on any audience. This plant can grow submerged or emersed in dry start aquariums and Wabi Kusa. Because this plant is small with tiny roots, it can prove difficult to keep planted into the substrate. In this case, dry start can help by allowing time for the roots to anchor into the substrate before flooding the tank. Although some have had success growing HC in smaller tanks using liquid carbon such as Excel, this species requires Co2 injection to truly thrive. It can be quite difficult to grow lush, thick carpets for sustained periods of time without Co2, and fertilization is recommended. To maintain a nice foreground Remove tissue culture gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers. Family Name: Scrophulariaceae Origin: North America, Cuba Height: 1-2” pH: 6-7.5 Care: Medium to Difficult Light: Medium to High Co2: Required Propagation: Cut new growth along with roots Growth rate: Moderate to Fast

Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests are introduced into the aquarium. Micranthemum ‘Monte Carlo” is a low growing aquatic plant that originates from New Zealand. It is a perfect foreground plant that if given sufficient lighting and nutrients can grow into a thick carpet of green foliage. The leaves are small and round with a beautiful bright green coloration that can nicely offset any neutral toned substrate. This plant is very similar to Hemianthus Callitrichoides (HC/Dwarf Baby Tears) but the leaves are larger and in our experience, its generally easier to grow. When hobbyist are having trouble growing HC, we recommend giving Monte Carlo a try. High lighting and Co2 injection is necessary to keep this plant low growing. Vertical growing thin stalks are an indication of lack of lighting while yellowing leaves can mean nutrition deficiency. Thin leaves can also hint at a lack of Co2. This plant can grow quickly and require regular trimming when kept under proper conditions. This plant can grow submerged or emersed in dry start aquariums and Wabi Kusa.

AR Mini is a dwarf variant of the well recognized Alternanthera Reineckii. This plant is commonly used in Dutch aquascapes for its bright and vibrant red colors. Its miniature growth allows it to be used in both large and small aquariums as either a foreground, midground or background plant. Like other stem plants, it requires medium to high light with the addition of CO2 for optimum growth. It can be grown emersed or submerged and reaches up to 8 inches tall. Propagating AR Mini is like any other stem plant, simply cut the stem and replant. Notes: Alternanthera provides great coverage for sensitive fauna species and is a relatively easy choice for beginners who are looking for colored aquarium plants. Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant. Please be sure to remove this plant from its wrap. Remove the foam surrounding the roots and plant into a quality substrate. For instructions on how to properly prep “bunched“ aquarium plants, click here . CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth. Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives. Family Name: Amaranthaceae Origin: South America Height: 3-4” pH: 5.0-7.0 Care: Medium Light: Medium to High Co2: Recommended for red coloration Propagation: Cut stem, new growth, or lateral shoots Growth rate: Moderate
